History

The story of STORM began long before the company was officially founded. It all started in 1993, when Andreas and Øystein met as six-year-olds and became best friends. From the start, their friendship was built on creativity and entrepreneurship, with countless projects sparking both excitement and occasional frustration among their parents.

The combination of Andreas’ drive and creativity, paired with Øystein’s engineering expertise, made them a natural team. Their paths crossed again professionally as adults when both pursued careers as commercial divers, adding another chapter to their shared journey.

Fast-forward to 2016, when Andreas, an enthusiastic hunter and outdoor adventurer, found himself grappling with a practical problem. His pickup truck, essential for both daily life and outdoor escapades, was equipped with a permanent insulated dog box for his hunting trips. While useful, it made the truck less versatile for other tasks. Andreas envisioned something better: a modular, detachable dog box that could make the vehicle adaptable for any purpose.

That idea quickly snowballed. What began as a personal project soon sparked the beginnings of STORM.

By 2020, Andreas officially founded STORM. The first person he wanted to bring on board was, of course, Øystein. At the time, Øystein was working as a senior engineer for the Norwegian Armed Forces, but he didn’t need much convincing. Before long, he joined STORM—the duo was reunited, just like in the old days.

Today, Andreas and Øystein work together as part of a larger, talented team at STORM. While the company has grown, the creativity and determination that sparked its beginnings continue to guide its journey. From humble backyard projects to global innovation, STORM’s success is a testament to teamwork, big ideas, and the courage to bring them to life.
